  1. Don't you know that laws nor constitutionalism apply when crisis occurs? You silly Congress couldn't possibly figure out a securitized loan with negative value, so we'll use your money to buy it without ever explaining why. Just know it's imperative to the national well-being. /of course, snark

    In all seriousness, I'm glad you posted this because it's the first thing that jumped out at me this morning.

    Jeff, may you comment on the legalities of this? Is such a thing unprecedented, or are there other examples of decisions beyond review?
