  1. What a fascinating article. It appears from the study design that they already had some inclination myelin was involved in some way. Any idea what gave them that idea?

Yeah, there are many demyelinating diseases out there that have been studied for a while, but from my understanding no one has ever recorded such a correlation as this with regards to reaction time. I mean, a neurodegenerative disease will knock out a lot of functions, myelin is a major player, but not the whole story. I've never seen a study that focused on just the effects of myelin content on synaptic transmission, at least not in this way. Very cool stuff
